Statements on the Ondo State Governorship Election in Nigeria

The National Steering Committee (NSC) of Project Swift Count held a press conference on 22 October 2012 in Abuja, Nigeria, to report their observation findings on the 20 October Ondo State Governorship elections in Nigeria. In general, Project Swift Count found that the elections provided the people with a meaningful opportunity to exercise their right to vote and that the official results reflected the ballots cast at polling stations. They congratulated the citizens of Ondo State for their peaceful and substantial participation in the election and recognized the Independent National Election Commission’s effective administration of the election and the adequate level of security which helped to maintain a peaceful environment.
