The data in the Participants Database addresses two types of information, Participant Identification and Areas of Work. Also provided below is a set of instructions on Using the Database. Refers to the group participating in the World Movement for Democracy. Organizations include, but are not limited to, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), research centers, inter-governmental organizations, and political parties. Participating Individual Refers to an individual in a World Movement participating organization who has taken part in various World Movement activities, such as assemblies, regional meetings, and networks. Location (Country/Region) The Country or Region in which a participating organization is physically located. Assemblies Attended Refers to the assemblies that participants have attended. The World Movement has held three Assemblies to date, the Inaugural Assembly in 1999 in New Delhi, India, the Second Assembly in 2000 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the third in 2004 in Durban, South Africa.
Listed below are topical areas in which participating organizations work. Country Focus Refers to the country on which the participating organization is primarily working. Regional Focus Refers to the region on which a participating organization is primarily working. Regions include: Type of Activity Types of activities conducted by participating organizations. Publications Examples of publications that a participating organization has produced. Please note that this field does not include all of an organization's publications. To obtain copies of these publications, please contact the specific organization.
