    Mission: The Canada Fund funds small projects providing technical, economic, educational, cultural or social development as efficiently and quickly as possible. Approved projects fall into two large groupings:
    1. social: education, health, water, humanitarian assistance are examples. It is important that the benefits derive directly to the community.
    2. economic: income generating projects consist of providing the "seed money" or start-up funds to a small group (cooperative, CBO etc) in order to increase production and revenue.

    Events over the past several years illustrate the elusiveness of a genuine and just peace agreement that delivers fundamental rights to Palestinians and peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians. Israeli and Palestinian human rights groups can contribute to promoting equitable solutions supported by international law as a means to resolve conflicts, both between Israel and Palestine and within each society. To further this goal, beginning in 2003 the Foundation will make capacity-building grants, both programmatic and institutional, to Israeli and Palestinian human rights groups.

    Limitations: Typically, the Foundation does not provide funds for: endowments or annual fund appeals, capital projects, political purposes such as lobbying or propaganda, conferences or workshops, sectarian religious concerns, individual scholarships, research, fellowships, loans, or travel film or media projects, and publications.

    Mission: The Global Fund supports efforts to improve the situation of women. It funds programs to improve women's health and reproductive rights, to challenge harmful traditional practices, to increase women's economic independence, to expand girls' access to education, to ensure disabled women's rights, to engage in peace-building and conflict resolution efforts, and to strengthen women's political participation.
