Central and Eastern Europe & Eurasia

Welcome to the World Movement for Democracy's section on the regional networking and resources in Caucasus, Central Asia, Central Europe, Eastern Europe & Baltics, Russia, South Eastern Europe, Ukraine.

Forming a Regional Network

The initiative to establish a Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia network was first discussed during the Third Assembly of the World Movement for Democracy in Durban, South Africa, in February 2004.

A summary of that discussion with the suggestions made was circulated among World Movement participants asking for their feedback and ideas, and initiating further dialogue on the question of creating a regional network. Because many NGO representatives from the region, including World Movement participants, attended the OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Meeting, it was decided to continue this discussion there.

The following documents provide additional information about the networking initiative.
