This Sunday, March 8, we celebrate International Women’s Day! The theme for this year is Make It Happen (using #MakeItHappen on social media) encouraging effective action for advancing greater equality and recognizing the achievements of women around the world.

To commemorate this day, the Women’s Learning Partnership (WLP), also the Secretariat of the International Women’s Democracy Network (IWDN), will be launching a new documentary, “Human Rights: The Unfinished Journey,” on effective advocacy strategies for women’s human rights in a globalized world.

WLP Founder and President Mahnaz Afkhami says that the film “will help bring awareness of the extent of the deterioration of the global consensus and commitment to rights and suggest the way forward by reigniting the passion for compassion and tolerance, and strengthen trust in the humane aspirations of people around the world.”

Be sure to watch our most recent Civic Space Initiative film “I Was Not Alone: A Pakistani Activist’s Journey for Change,” which tells the story of our participant and acclaimed activist Fouzia Saeed and her successful movement to secure women’s rights against sexual harassment in the workplace in Pakistan.
