Local Partner Organizations
Three South Africa-based organizations served as local partner organizations. They worked with the World Movement Secretariat and other democracy organizations in South Africa to help with the logistical and other preparations for the Assembly.

African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD)

The African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD) is a civil society organization working throughout Africa to bring appropriate African solutions to the challenges posed by conflict on the continent. Through its programs, ACCORD delivers the knowledge and experiences of the organization and of South Africa to other countries in Africa and different parts of the world, such as East Timor and Cyprus.
Center for Policy Studies (CPS)

The Centre for Policy Studies, established in 1987, is an independent policy research institution committed to researching South Africa's most pressing political and social issues. The Centre's research is organized in five program areas, including governance, democratization and civil society, development and delivery, foreign policy and international relations, and poverty, employment, and enterprise.

Institute for Democracy in South Africa (IDASA)

Idasa's mission is the promotion of sustainable democracy in South Africa and elsewhere by building democratic institutions, educating citizens and advocating social justice. It operates through a series of specialist programmes in budget transparency and reform, political institutions and governance monitoring, leadership and civic education, HIV/AIDS, local government, community safety and migration policy. It presently has country specific projects in Zimbabwe and Nigeria and anchors the Afrobarometer project.
