The company is working to become the leading provider of unbiased news in Somalia. It established a program to train young journalists in techniques appropriate for public news reporting. The training program covers topics ranging from journalistic theory to radio and television production. HornAfrik Media produces documentaries on human rights issues and programs to promote peace. The participation of young journalists is crucial in the creation and production of the documentaries on peace topics. Radio Maendeleo is run by an association of local NGOs to help ensure the dissemination of correct, non-biased news in an effort to promote peace and tolerance in the region.
