HornAfrik Media is a private news company headquartered in Mogadishu, and is the local affiliate of both the BBC and VOA. The company is working to become the leading provider of unbiased news in Somalia. It established a program to train young journalists in techniques appropriate for public news reporting. The training program covers topics ranging from journalistic theory to radio and television production. HornAfrik Media produces documentaries on human rights issues and programs to promote peace. The participation of young journalists is crucial in the creation and production of the documentaries on peace topics.

The International Memorial Society works to raise awareness of problems in the Caucasus region, whihc has been plagued by violence, most notably in the Chechnya-Russia conflict. The International Memorial Society maintains a Web site, "Caucasus Switchboard," that hosts discussions of pertinent issues and will be expanded to include more information on peace-building techniques and ideas to reduce inter-ethnic conflict.

Medienhilfe Ex- Jugoslawien supports multiple independent media outlets in the Republic of Macedonia. It currently covers operating costs of nine radio stations that are committed to a peaceful Macedonia. All supported radio stations work to promote tolerance, free speech and rule of law. Medienhilfe Ex-Jugoslawien promotes free media in Europe and works with donors to produce a regular news summary of events in Macedonia.

Radio Bo is an independent media provider in Sierra Leone committed to the distribution of useful, unbiased information to citizens of the country. One of its programs trains community singers and cultural groups to serve as "community animators" to develop radio programs on peace, reconciliation, and the democratic process. Radio Bo supplements these programs with music and dramatic shows.

Radio Maendeleo is an independent radio station operated out of Bukavu in the Southern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Radio Maendeleo is run by an association of local NGOs to help ensure the dissemination of correct, non-biased news in an effort to promote peace and tolerance in the region.
