The Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) is dedicated to making a meaningful contribution to peaceful and fundamental transformation in South Africa and the Southern African region. Its project, "Consolidating Citizenship and Reconciliation in Post-Truth and Reconciliation Commission Period," seeks to analyze the ways in which Truth and Reconciliation process has engaged with issues of race, citizenship and morality of violence; to investigate how different sectors of South African society understand themselves in terms of citizenship and race; and to consider the implications of the changing dynamics of race, citizenship, and violence in post-apartheid South Africa for the development of policy and intervention strategies aimed at promoting reconciliation, entrenching human rights culture, and preventing violence. The project includes action research and a pilot intervention program targeting school youth. At the present stage, a database documenting and monitoring specific incidents of violence is being developed.

Corporación Centro de Estudios Constitucionales (Plural) is in its fourth year of working on the peace tribunal system. Plural conducts a long-term campaign to educate and work with local leaders to ensure the continuing success of the system. The tribunal system has been in operation for several years in Colombia as a means for citizens to solve disputes at the local level. The tribunal system helps to find peace on a local level while the country struggles for peace on a national level. Plural educates the justices, government officials, and local police on the role of the justices in the country's legal system.

Corporación Región maintains three alternative resolution and community justice centers. The organization is promoting an equitable justice system where mutual respect and cohabitation is fostered. Its activities include training local justice officials on how to use the mechanisms they have and how/ when to use alternative methods and conducting education, advocacy and justice techniques programs throughout Colombia to promote democratic participation.

The Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR) is committed to the promotion of democratic co-existence and transitional justice in South Africa, across the African continent, and in other regions where there is an opportunity to heal the divisions of the past. Its Reconciliation and Social Reconstruction Program seeks to comprehend and promote processes of social reconstruction and healing in post-apartheid South Africa by conducting intensive action-based research and analysis of various aspects of restorative justice, reconciliation, and integration processes taking place in the country. The result of this research will be published in a guidebook that will become a resource for the members and leaders of the community.
